CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS
CAMBRIDGE REGENCY HYATT
Fair Organizer: Jessica D. Magagna
The Cambridge fair is held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, just minutes away from Harvard Square. This fair is one of the original fairs started by Founding Director, John Magagna, when Search Associates first began. The Cambridge fair is considered the "flagship" fair and has been extremely successful for both candidates and schools for the last 28 years.
The Cambridge fair is considered the "flagship" of all Search Associates fairs due to its long history of success for both candidates and schools.
Welcome
The Cambridge fair is strategically placed in the recruiting cycle to meet the needs of our member schools and candidates. This fair is one of the larger fairs Search Associates has to offer, hosting between 400-450 pre-screened teachers, administrators, and intern candidates and attracting as many as 250 recruiters from around the world.
As with all of our Search Associates job fairs, attending the Cambridge fair offers both candidates and school recruiters the opportunity to schedule interviews to determine if there is a good "fit". In addition, it is the best way to network with other international teaching candidates (as well as recruiters) and get a good sense of the joys and challenges of teaching abroad. Below is a small sampling of what some of our candidates had to say about attending the Cambridge fair.
"This fair was an amazing and fabulous experience. Well done Search Associates!!"
-Heidi Stevens
"All of us who attended from Escuela Bella Vista recommend the Cambridge Fair for the following reasons: a) The advice, assistance and availability of our Search "sponsors" b) The smaller size facilitated getting to know the recruiters and teachers c) The on-line registration made communication much easier before the fair"
-Jeannette Armbrustmacher
"Thanks so much for all of your guidance and support. I could not have been more impressed with the entire Search Associates staff. I look forward to working with you again in the future."
-Philip Charland
Fair Statistics
The timing of the Cambridge fair is quite advantageous, as it is neither too early or too late in the international recruiting cycle. School recruiters will be able to interview a large pool of excellent candidates and candidates will have access to a large number of positions available.
The Cambridge fair continues to be recognized as one of Search Associates most successful job fairs by both schools and candidates alike. Historically, nearly 70% of candidates attending the fair receive an offer with 50-55% accepting an offer as a result of the interviews and networking opportunities available during the fair!
Personal attention
The Cambridge fair team offers extensive personal assistance to schools and candidates attending. To help us in these efforts, there are numerous Senior Associates on hand to assist, including; Sally Gordon, Bridget McNamer, Diana Kerry, Julie Ryan, Gary MacPhie, Brent Mutsch, COO, Rajiv Bhat, Founding Director, John Magagna and fair organizer and President Jessica Magagna. In addition, our Recruitment Coordinator, Melinda Williams, will be present as well as an abundance of the Cambridge Fair event staff.
Cambridge Invitation
We are happy to accept those candidates and schools who are fully registered and have received an invitation to attend. Having said that, this fair is quite competitive and therefore, we encourage candidates to talk with their Associate to determine if this fair is best suited for their job search. Once a candidate has been accepted for membership with Search Associates and activated, they can request a invitation directly from their candidate dashboard page. NOTE: Candidate invitations for our 2019 Cambridge fair will not be available until August 2018. More information about the Cambridge fair will be posted in the coming months to include the list of schools attending, schedule of events and more so please visit this page again!
Cambridge Schedule of Events
The fair is held over a four day period of time which will consist of school presentations, informative workshops, interview sign up sessions and most importantly, the interviews! A schedule of the events will be posted closer to the time of the 2019 Fair date.
